Amidst weather many described as, "Perfect for bird-watching," Colon's second annual Hummingbird Fest was considered a flying success Saturday. With crowd estimates boasting nearly double of last years — near 400 —one of the biggest highlights of the day was the recapturing of not one, but two hummingbirds banded at last year's fest.

Tropical Strom Fay is continues to drift westward as it dumps heavy rains on northeastern Florida, according to the National Weather Service. Tropical storm warning remains in effect from Sebastian Inlet northward to the Savannah River at the border between Georgia and South Carolina.
